江陵福昌詢禪師。僧問。如何是佛。師曰。花開金谷煖柳拂玉墀香。僧云。恁麼則春令既行萬方道泰。師曰。開口迷全體無言露半身。

Chan Master Xun of Fuchang in Jiangling. A monk asked, "What is the Buddha?" The Master said, "Flowers blossom, warm at Jingu; willows brush the jade steps with fragrance." The monk said, "In that case, the spring decree having been enacted, all directions enjoy peace on the Way." The Master said, "Opening the mouth, one loses the complete substance; without words, half the body is revealed."
