益州郫縣西禪垂白禪師。僧問。香煙纔起大眾雲臻。祖意西來請師垂示。師曰。心光自照。僧云。恁麼則一句於師親領得。永鎮郫城萬古傳。師曰。是人有分。

Chan Master Chuibai of Xichan in Pi County, Yizhou. A monk asked, "The incense smoke has just arisen, and the great assembly gathers like clouds. Please, Master, indicate the Patriarch's meaning from the West." The Master said, "The light of the mind shines upon itself." The monk said, "In that case, having personally received a single phrase from the Master, it will forever guard the city of Pi, handed down for ten thousand ages." The Master said, "Everyone has their share."
