江州東林通理禪師上堂。峯頭駕鐵船。三更日輪杲。心閑不自明。落葉知誰掃。等閑摘箇鄭州梨。放手元是青州棗。

Chan Master Tongli of Donglin in Jiangzhou ascended the hall and said, 'Atop the peak, steering an iron boat; at the third watch, the sun's disc is brilliant. The mind at leisure does not clarify itself; who knows who sweeps the fallen leaves? Casually picking a pear from Zhengzhou, releasing the hand, it was originally a date from Qingzhou.'
