28.93

上曰。更有也無。師對。當似今日。又奏曰。昔見台州守宗穎。問因看法華經云。佛身長無量百千萬億那由他由旬。到此直是疑著。是時臣擲下扇子於地上云。爾且道。我扇長多少。與佛身相去幾何。渠惘然無答。

His Majesty said, "Is there anything more, or not?" The Master replied, "It should be like today." He also memorialized, saying, "In the past, I met Zongying, the Prefect of Taizhou. He asked, 'Because of reading the Lotus Sūtra, which says that the Buddha's body is immeasurable hundreds of thousands of myriads of koṭis of nayutas of yojanas in length, arriving here, I am truly perplexed.' At that time, I threw down a fan onto the ground and said, 'Tell me, how long is my fan? How far apart is it from the Buddha's body?' He was bewildered and had no reply."
