30.21

溫州本寂靈光文觀禪師。本郡葉氏子。上堂。過去諸如來斯門已成就。好事不如無。現在諸菩薩今各入圓明。好事不如無。未來修學人當依如是住。好事不如無。還知麼。除却華山陳處士。何人不帶是非行。參。

Chan Master Lingguang Wenguan of Benji in Wenzhou was a son of the Ye family in that same prefecture. Ascending the hall, [he said], "'All past Tathāgatas have already realized this gate.' A good thing is not as good as nothing. 'All present bodhisattvas now enter round brightness.' A good thing is not as good as nothing. 'Future practitioners should abide like this.' A good thing is not as good as nothing. Do you understand? Except for the Retired Scholar Chen of Mount Hua, who does not walk about carrying right and wrong? Deliberate!"
