成都府金繩文禪師。僧問。如何是大道之源。師曰黃河九曲。曰如何是不犯之令。師曰。鐵蛇鑽不入。僧擬議。師便打。

Chan Master Jinsheng Wen of Chengdu Prefecture. A monk asked, "What is the source of the Great Way?" The Master said, "The nine bends of the Yellow River." The monk asked, "What is the inviolable command?" The Master said, "An iron snake cannot bore in." The monk hesitated, and the Master struck him.
