台州瑞巖如勝佛燈禪師上堂。人人領略釋迦。箇箇平欺達磨。及乎問著宗綱。束手盡云放過。放過即不無。秖如女子出定趙州洗鉢盂。又作麼生話會。鶴有九皐難翥翼。馬無千里謾追風。

Chan Master Ruiyan Rushan Fodeng of Taizhou ascended the hall: "Everyone apprehends Śākya; each one insults Bodhidharma. When asked about the essential guidelines, their hands are tied and they all say, 'Let it pass.' That one lets it pass is not denied, but just as the woman comes out of samādhi and Zhaozhou washes the bowl, how do you talk about and understand it? / The crane has nine marshlands, but its wings can hardly soar; / The horse lacks a thousand-league capacity, chasing the wind in vain."
