30.6

密州嗜山寧禪師上堂。有時孤峯頂上嘯月眠雲。有時大洋海中翻波走浪。有時十字街頭七穿八穴。諸人還相委悉麼。樟樹花開盛芭蕉葉最多。

Chan Master Shishan Ning of Mizhou ascended the hall: "Sometimes on a solitary mountain peak, whistling to the moon and sleeping in the clouds; sometimes in the vast ocean, turning over the waves and running through the billows; sometimes in the crossroads of the city, piercing through from all directions. Do all of you clearly understand? The camphor trees bloom profusely, and the plantain leaves are most abundant."
