廣德軍光孝果慜禪師。常德桃源人也。上堂舉南泉斬猫兒話。乃曰。南泉提起下刀誅。六臂修羅救得無。設使兩堂俱道得。也應流血滿街衢。

Chan Master Guomin of Guangxiao in Guangde Military Prefecture was a native of Taoyuan in Changde. He ascended the hall and brought up the public case of Nanquan cutting the cat, saying: 'Nanquan held it up and brought down the knife to slaughter; could the six-armed Asura have rescued it? Even had both halls been able to speak, blood would still have flowed filling the streets.'
