30.62

慶元府蓬萊圓禪師。住山三十年足不越閫。道俗尊仰之。師有偈曰。新縫紙被烘來暖。一覺安眼到五更。聞得上方鐘鼓動。又添一日在浮生。

Chan Master Yuan of Penglai in Qingyuan Prefecture. He resided in the mountains for thirty years without his feet stepping beyond the threshold. Monastics and laypeople revered him. The Master had a verse that said:
'A freshly sewn paper blanket, warmed over the fire;
A sound sleep closing the eyes until the fifth watch.
Hearing the bells and drums stirred from the upper quarters,
Yet another day is added to this floating life.'
