廣德軍光孝悟初首座。分座日示眾舉風旛話。至仁者心動處乃曰。祖師恁麼道。賺殺一船人。今時衲僧也不可恁麼會。既不恁麼會。畢竟作麼生。良久曰。六月好合醬。切忌著鹽多。

Head Monk Guangxiao Wuchu of Guangde Commandery, on the day he shared the seat, instructed the assembly by citing the story of the wind and the banner. Coming to the point where [Huineng said] “the benevolent one's mind moves,” he said: “The Patriarch speaking like this led a whole boat of people astray. Nowadays patch-robed monks also cannot understand it this way. Since you cannot understand it this way, ultimately how is it?” After a long silence, he said: “The sixth month is good for fermenting sauce; strictly avoid adding too much salt.”
