越州清化志超禪師杭州董氏子。僧問。如何是佛。師曰。汝是甚麼人。曰莫便是也無。師曰。是即沒交涉。

Chan Master Zhichao of Qinghua in Yuezhou was a son of the Dong family of Hangzhou. A monk asked, "What is the Buddha?" The Master said, "What kind of person are you?" The monk said, "Could it be just this?" The Master said, "If it is 'this', there is no connection at all."
