7.19

全州靈山本言禪師。僧問。如何是佛。師曰。誰教汝恁麼問。曰今日起動和尚也。師曰。謝訪及。

Chan Master Benyan of Lingshan in Quanzhou. A monk asked, "What is the Buddha?"
The Master said, "Who taught you to ask like that?"
The monk said, "Today I have stirred up the Upādhyāya."
The Master said, "Thank you for coming to visit."
