嵩明教之在釋氏扶持正宗排斥異說。辭而闢之咸有援據。所謂障百川而東之。迴狂瀾於既倒者也。諸老出力。共廣此書。皆湜籍輩用心也。隨喜之緣有大於此者乎。隆興甲申十一月既望。左奉議郎前提舉福建路市舶。晉安林之奇書。

When Song Mingjiao was among the Buddhists, he upheld the orthodox lineage and refuted deviant teachings; in rejecting and condemning them, he always had evidence and authority. This was what is meant by "damming the hundred rivers to send them east, and turning back the wild surge that had already collapsed." That the various elders have put forth their strength to circulate this text widely is entirely the earnest intention of people like Shiji. Could there be any occasion for rejoicing in merit greater than this?
