2.42

偈已。尊者起身太虛。呈十八變。用火光三昧而自焚之。是時也當此周莊王之世也。彌遮迦與眾收其舍利。建塔於班茶山。而供養之。

After reciting the verse, the Venerable One leapt up into empty space, displayed the eighteen transformations, used the samādhi of fiery radiance to incinerate himself. At that time, it was during the reign of King Zhuang of the Zhou. Miccaka and the assembly gathered his relics, built a stupa on Mount Pañca, and made offerings to them.
