2.74

因告之曰。我今願師尊者。幸與出家。脇尊者聽之。即為剃度。命四果聖者與其受戒。後乃命之曰。如來大法眼藏今以付汝。汝其流傳勿令之絕。聽吾偈曰。

He then told him: "I now wish to take the Venerable One as my master; may you kindly allow me to leave home." The Venerable Pārśva granted it, shaved his head, and commanded noble ones of the four fruitions to bestow the precepts upon him. Later he instructed him, saying: "The Tathāgata's great treasury of the Dharma-eye I now entrust to you. Disseminate it and do not allow it to be severed. Listen to my verse:"
