尋命夜多曰。佛昔嘗記汝。當為二十世祖。今如來大法眼藏。乃以付汝。汝善傳持。聽吾偈曰。
He soon instructed Jayata, saying: 'The Buddha formerly prophesied that you would be the twentieth patriarch. Now I entrust the Tathāgata’s Great Dharma-Eye Treasury to you; do you transmit and maintain it well. Listen to my verse:'
