第五祖提多迦摩伽國人其姓則未詳。初從毱多尊者出家。行化至中印土。會大仙者彌遮迦自說夙緣。求為其徒。及將入滅。乃以法付彌遮迦。說偈曰。

The Fifth Patriarch, Dhītika, was a man of the country of Magadha; his surname is not known. He initially left home under the Venerable Upagupta. While traveling and transforming, he reached Central India, where he met the great rishi Miccaka, who related his own past karmic connections and sought to become his disciple. When Dhītika was about to enter extinction, he transmitted the Dharma to Miccaka, speaking a verse, saying:
