雜譬喻經 1.30

There was a dragon that ascended to heaven and sent down heavy rain. When the rain fell on the heavenly palaces, it immediately became the seven precious gems; when the rain fell among humans, it brought moisture to all; and when it fell on the bodies of hungry ghosts, it turned into blazing fire that burnt their whole bodies. It was the same single rain, yet what it became upon falling was different. These two matters make clear that bodily forms have no fixed substance, but change according to the influence of offences and merits.
