1.83

傳聞。大興善寺傳法灌頂阿闍梨惠應。有一人沙彌。從七歲師事和上。至七歲有因緣。附船渡新羅。忽遇暴風。乘舶頓覆。五十餘人。沒海不知何處漂寄。沙彌一心念胎藏聖眾曰。諸海會眾。起大悲心。普救船眾。如夢見虛空。聖眾如星散光。身忽在岸上。五十餘人。不溺沒同在一處。其中二十餘人。謂見空聖眾。當知救難之力不可思議矣。

According to tradition, Huiying, an ācārya of the Dharma transmission and abhiṣeka at Daxingshan Monastery, had a novice monk. From the age of seven he had served the upādhyāya as his master. When he reached seven years [of discipleship], due to circumstances, he boarded a ship to cross over to Silla. Suddenly they met with a violent storm, and the ship they rode suddenly capsized. More than fifty people sank into the sea, drifting without knowing where they were. The novice monk single-mindedly concentrated on the holy assembly of the Garbhadhātu, saying: "O assembly of the vast ocean-gathering, arouse great compassion and universally save the people of this ship!" As if in a dream, he saw the empty sky; the holy assembly scattered light like stars, and his body was suddenly upon the shore. The more than fifty people were all together in one place without having drowned. Among them, more than twenty people claimed to have seen the holy assembly in the sky. One should know that the power to rescue from disaster is inconceivable!
