昔西域有一婆羅門。從手放光。人異之問阿羅漢。不知因緣。後得通大士。來到彼家。見放光云。善哉婆羅門。昔以手觸涅槃尊經。以是因緣。能放光明。汝未來得佛。亦名光明尊矣。

In the past, in the Western Regions, there was a brahman who emitted light from his hand. People marvelled at this and asked an arhat, who did not know the cause. Later, a great master endowed with supernormal powers came to his house, saw the emitted light, and said, "Excellent, brahman! In the past, you touched the venerable Nirvāṇa-sūtra with your hand. By this cause and condition, you are able to emit bright light. When you attain buddhahood in the future, your name will also be the Venerable One of Bright Light."
