2.42

宋臨淄釋普明。誦法華維摩二經。誦維摩經。聞空中唱樂。又善神呪。所拯皆愈。有卿人王道真。妻病請明入內。婦便悶絕。俄見一物如狸長數尺許云云。

Under the Song dynasty, Shi Puming of Linzi recited the two sūtras of the Lotus and Vimalakīrti. When reciting the Vimalakīrti-sūtra, he heard musical chanting in the air. He was also skilled in divine dhāraṇīs; whomever he saved was healed. There was a minister named Wang Daozhen whose wife was ill; he invited Puming into the inner quarters. The wife then fainted away. Soon, a creature resembling a wildcat, several feet long, was seen, and so forth.
