西垣外池側塔。是外道執雀問佛處。東南垣內五十餘步。有奇樹高八九尺。其幹兩披。佛昔嚼棄生而如此。

Outside the west wall, beside a pond, is a stupa where a tīrthika held a sparrow to question the Buddha. More than fifty paces inside the southeast wall is a wondrous tree, eight or nine feet high, whose trunk divides in two; in the past, after chewing [his tooth-stick], the Buddha discarded it, and it grew into this form.
