山東有布咀落迦山。頂有池流下出大河。繞山三十匝而入南海。側池天宮即觀自在遊舍處也。祈者見為自在天像。山東北海畔城古僧伽羅國今入海三千餘里。至。

East of the mountain is Mount Potalaka. At the summit is a lake, from which flows down a great river that circles the mountain thirty times and enters the southern sea. Beside the lake is a deva palace, the abode where Avalokiteśvara roams. Those who pray see him as the image of Maheśvara. To the northeast of the mountain by the sea is the city of ancient Siṃhala; now, going over 3,000 li out into the sea, one reaches [the following kingdom].
