阿吒釐國（南印度）周六千餘里。都城周二十餘里。人盛滿家事天神。祠十餘所異道雜居。土地沙鹵。出胡椒樹如蜀椒樹。又出熏陸香。樹葉如棠也。又從摩臘國西北三日行（彼百里為一日行）。

the kingdom of Aṭali (South India), which is more than six thousand li in circuit. The capital is more than twenty li in circuit. The population is abundant; every household serves the devas. There are more than ten temples where tīrthikas live together. The soil is sandy and saline; it produces pepper trees that resemble the Sichuan pepper tree. It also produces frankincense (kunduruka); the tree leaves resemble the flowering crabapple.
