予夙慕陶淵明為人。往歲渭川閑居。甞有効陶體詩十六首。今遊廬山。經柴桑故里。思其人訪其宅。不能默默。又題詩云。

I have long admired Tao Yuanming as a person. In former years, while living at leisure along the Wei River, I once composed sixteen poems imitating the style of Tao. Now traveling to Lushan, I passed through his old village of Chaisang. Longing for the man, I visited his residence; unable to remain silent, I inscribed this poem as well:
