淙淙三峽水。浩浩萬頃陂。未如新塘上。微風動漣漪。小萍加汎汎。初蒲正離離。紅鯉二三寸。白蓮八九枝。遶水欲成徑。護堤方插籬已被山中客。呼作白家池。

Murmuring are the waters of the Three Gorges; / Vast and billowy is the marsh of ten thousand acres. / Yet they are not like the surface of this new pond, / Where a gentle breeze stirs ripples. / Little duckweed drifts freely; / Fresh cattails grow lush and full. / Red carps of two or three inches; / White lotuses on eight or nine stalks. / Circling the water, a path is about to form; / Guarding the dyke, a fence has just been inserted. / Already the mountain guests / Have called it 'the Pond of the Bai Family.'
