It is seventy li southwest of the peak, subordinated under Goulou Peak of Hengyang. Built in the Xianhe era of the Jin, it was named Yunlong Monastery. At the end of the Daye era of the Sui, the eminent monk Daming resided here. By the end of the Tang, it was moved below the mountain, and the Ma clan renamed it Jinlun Monastery; or some say it was an estate of the Ma clan. During the Taiping Xingguo era of our dynasty, the present plaque was bestowed by imperial favor. Encircling the monastery are tens of thousands of cedars and pines; whenever whipped by the wind, the forest resounds like ocean waves. The monastery has an inscribed stone written by Cen Wenben of the Tang, and Han Yu's poem stele on Mount Goulou is there. Tradition says that Yu's stele is atop the tip of this peak. Bureau Manager Zhe left an inscribed verse: "The road winds around the craggy ridge; / Water conceals winding fields. / The lush forest is deep as an ocean; / The ancient temple is serene as an abyss. / Goulou cannot yet be reached; / The Yu stele is truly an empty rumor. / Fearing it will be late when returning to Xilin, / Wanting to leave, I am again at a loss." The monastery has the Purong Spring and the Daoist Pavilion.
