West of Shilin Peak and south beneath Shiliu Peak, twenty li from the Temple. Formerly, Realized Man Shi, taboo name Cun, called himself Master Hufu; some say Wanpenzi took Huangluzi as his master and obtained the *Esoteric Text of the Three Sovereigns*, the art of commanding tigers and jackals, and the methods of escape and transforming shadows. Appearing and disappearing for several hundred years, he admired the Shilin Grotto Gate, saying: 'This is the place for my ascent to perfection!' and took up residence there. Furthermore, he constructed a gallery in a stone chamber west of the peak, spanning more than a hundred feet through empty space. Going out, he rode a white leopard; or when returning to the mountain on foot, the leopard would welcome him. The divine transcendents of the seas and sacred peaks would gather there from time to time. Those in the region who admired him rarely caught sight of him close by. On the seventh day of the fourth month of the first year of the Yongkang era of the Jin, he mounted the leopard and ascended to heaven. In the first year of the Chonghe era, Emperor Huizong bestowed upon him the title of Realized Man Chonghe Jiansu. There was also Master Li Changli, a man of Shu, who dwelt in seclusion for several years and roamed the Tianbao Grotto. Today there remains only the Rein-the-Leopard Crag, though the rest of the foundations are still visible. Zhang Jiuling of the Tang toured Dongmen and inscribed a poem on Chen's Elixir Terrace, saying: 'West of Jitou the side gate opens; / Chen's elixir ascended from the myriad-fathom terrace. / Was the ghost's solemn oath of old genuine or not? / To this day people still speak of the stones planted by the ghost's shoulder.'
