樂學士史。景德末。為西京留臺御史。嘗夢一人具冠服稱帝命來召。俄宮闕壯麗。因問使者。云此帝所也。既陞見帝謂曰。主求嗣吾為擇之少選一人至。帝曰。中原求嗣。汝往勿辭。頓首求免者再三。帝曰。往哉。遂唯而去。旁拱立者曰。此南岳赤脚李仙人也。嘗酣于酒。明年果生仁宗皇帝（此一段與本朝實錄甚異。今亦存之）。

Academician Shi Yue, late in the Jingde reign era, served as Censor of the Western Capital Branch Censorate. He once dreamed that a person in full cap and robe claimed to have been sent by an imperial command to summon him. Presently, a magnificent palace appeared. When he asked the envoy, the envoy said, 'This is the Emperor's residence.' After ascending to see the Emperor, [the Emperor] told him, 'The sovereign seeks an heir; I will choose one for him.' Soon a person arrived. The Emperor said, 'The Central Plains seeks an heir; go, and do not refuse.' The person kowtowed repeatedly, begging to be excused. The Emperor said, 'Go!' Thereupon he gave assent and departed. The person standing by with clasped hands said, 'This is the Barefoot Immortal Li of Nanyue; he was often soaked in wine.' The following year, Emperor Renzong was indeed born. (This section is very different from the Veritable Records of the present dynasty, but it is preserved here as well.)
