紹聖中。宜春季觀守臨賀。有一叟曰陳非自羅浮山來。觀延之因詰其年。曰五十歲。語次因問呂真人。叟曰。昔見之於南岳。陪速數日。自云。近遊巴陵。見老木精。留一絕於白鶴寺壁。臨別謂觀曰。我一百二十六歲矣。前日驟見不敢言。懼見疑也。今已別。言之無害。再復南嶽矣。觀計此叟。亦真人之流也。

During the Shaosheng reign era, Li Guan of Yichun was governor of Linhe. There was an old man named Chen Fei who came from Mount Luofu. Guan invited him in and inquired about his age; he replied, 'Fifty years.' In the course of conversation, Guan asked about Transcendent Lü. The old man said, 'I once saw him at Nanyue and spent several days in his company. He said of himself that he had recently traveled to Baling, met an old tree spirit, and left a quatrain on the wall of Baihe Temple.' Upon parting, he said to Guan, 'I am one hundred and twenty-six years old. When we met suddenly the other day, I dared not speak of it, fearing you would doubt me. Now that we are parting, there is no harm in speaking. I am returning to Nanyue once more.' Guan reckoned that this old man was also of the company of transcendents.
