When Zhang Junyou served as Fiscal Commissioner of Hunan, he passed through Nanyue. From his palanquin, he saw a very magnificent Daoist abbey to the left of the road, bearing a plaque reading 'Zhuling Palace.' Looking into it from afar, he saw a feather-robed priest standing upon the hall. Junyou wished to dismount, but half of his mounted escort had already passed by. The next year, when passing through that place again, he sought the Zhuling Palace but found nothing. The local elders said, 'Nearby there is only the shrine of Transcendent Zhu.' Arriving there, it was indeed the place where he had previously seen the Zhuling Palace, yet it was merely a small hut of one or two bays. Such was its transformative strangeness. (This account shares the same sense as that of Zhang Huiyan but differs in phrasing; it is preserved here as well).
