1.22

問曰。佛道重無為樂施與持戒兢兢如臨深淵者。今沙門耽好酒漿。或畜妻子。取賤賣貴。專行詐紿。此乃世之大偽。而佛道謂之無為耶。

The questioner said: "The Buddhist Dao values non-action, delights in giving, and upholds the precepts with trembling caution as though standing by the edge of an abyss. Yet the śramaṇas of today indulge in alcohol; some keep wives and children; they buy low and sell high, practicing deception exclusively. This is indeed the great hypocrisy of the world, yet the Buddhist Dao calls it non-action?"
