問曰。吾子以經傳理佛說。其辭富而義顯。其文熾而說美。得無非其誠是子之辯也。牟子曰。非吾辯也。見博故不惑耳。

The questioner asked: You, Sir, use the classics and commentaries to elucidate the Buddha's sayings; your words are rich and their meanings conspicuous, your style is brilliant and your explanations elegant. Might it not be that this is not their true essence, but merely your eloquence? Mouzi said: It is not my eloquence; it is merely that having seen widely, I am not deluded.
