辱告。伏見勅答臣下審神滅論。神之不滅經典明文。即心語事皎然在理。論神有滅實所駭歎。天照淵凝妙旨周博。折彼異端弘茲雅範。信可以朗悟冥塗。棟梁千載矣。伏覽歡戴竊深罔極。比故詣展遲獲諮申。王珍國呈。

I was humbled by your letter. I have respectfully seen the imperial decree replying to the ministers' inquiry on the treatise on the extinction of the spirit. That the spirit is not extinguished is stated in the clear texts of the classics; speaking of the matter through the mind, it is brilliantly within principle. That there was a treatise arguing that the spirit is extinguished was truly alarming and lamentable. The heavenly illumination is deep and concentrated; the sublime intention is comprehensive and vast. It refutes those heterodox views and propagates this elegant standard; truly it can brightly awaken those in the dark paths, serving as a pillar and beam for a thousand years. Reading it prostrate, my joyous reverence is boundless. Since I was recently late in paying a visit to you, I was delayed in presenting my consultation. Wang Zhenguo presents this.
