岫和南。伏見詔旨答臣下審神滅論。叡照淵深動鑒機切。敷引外典弘茲內教。發蒙啟滯訓誘未悟。方使四海稟仰十方讚抃。異見杜口道俗同欣。謹加習誦寤寐書紳。惠以逮示深承眷憶。范岫和南。

Xiu bows with folded hands. Prostrating, I have read the imperial edict replying to his ministers regarding the Treatise on the Extinction of the Spirit. The sagely illumination is profound and deep, and its dynamic mirror is keenly pertinent. Extensively citing external classics, it promotes this internal teaching, enlightening the benighted, releasing the obstructed, and instructing the unenlightened. It will cause the four seas to look up with reverence and the ten directions to praise and clap their hands; deviant views will close their mouths, and the monastics and laity will rejoice alike. I have reverently recited it, and whether waking or sleeping, I have written it upon my sash. That you have favored me with its presentation, I deeply receive your mindful regard.
