辱告宣示。勅答臣下審神滅論。聖旨披析。使惑者煥然。神之不滅著於通誥。理既眇默。故致有迷。主上識照知來鑒踰藏往。摛幾外之妙思。攻異端之妄說。又引禮經取驗虛實。孝敬之道於此方弘。孤子蕭昂頓首和南。

Graced by your notice and proclaimed demonstration of the imperial response answering the ministers' examination of the Treatise on the Extinction of the Spirit, the holy decree dissects it, causing those who are deluded to become clear. That the spirit is not extinguished is evident in the universal proclamations; since principle is subtle and silent, it consequently gave rise to delusion. The Lord above's perceptive illumination knows what is to come, and his mirror surpasses what conceals the past. Displaying wondrous thoughts beyond the subtle springs, he attacks the erratic theories of heterodoxy. Furthermore, adducing the Book of Rites, he verifies the true and false; the way of filial piety and respect is only now broadly propagated. The solitary son Xiao Ang bows his head and pays homage.
