門下。佛法宏誕所不能了。推其篤至之情。故寧與其敬耳。今事既在己。苟所不了。且當寧從其略諸人。勿復使禮也。便皆使聞知。

From the Chancellery: The Dharma of the Buddha is vast and magnificent, beyond what we can comprehend. Inferring their earnest and extreme devotion, we would rather grant them their reverence. Now that the matter rests with myself, if it is not understood, we should rather follow the simpler course for everyone and no longer require them to pay homage. Let all be informed of this.
