難曰。周孔適時而殺。佛欲頓去之。將何以懲暴止姦統理群生者哉。

The objector said: 'The Duke of Zhou and Confucius killed in accordance with the times, but the Buddha wishes to eliminate it entirely. How then will he punish brutality, halt treachery, and govern the multitude of sentient beings?'
