5.60

問曰。若以物情重生不可致喪。則生情之由私戀之惑耳。宜朗以達觀曉以大方。豈得就其迷滯以為報應之對哉。

Question: If beings' feelings value life and it must not be destroyed, then the cause of the feeling for life is merely the delusion of selfish craving. One ought to illuminate them with a comprehensive view and instruct them with the great direction. How can one just rely on their delusion and stagnation to establish retribution?
