答彼周曰。綜識於本已吐前牘。吾與老釋相識正如此。正復是目擊道斯存。卿欲必曲鞠其辭。吾不知更所以自訟。

Replying to Zhou: Gathering and recognizing it in the origin has already been expressed in my earlier letter. My acquaintance with Laozi and Shakyamuni is precisely like this. It is truly again a case of 'the moment eyes meet, the Dao is present there.' If you insist on thoroughly twisting my words, I do not know how I could further plead my case.
