Replying to Zhou: The contention over land between the two states of Yu and Rui was not something King Wen was concerned about. When white jade is broken to quell a dispute, is there not something else more revered? How much more so when, fighting over a single swan by night, one falsely arrays ducks and swallows as armies! This is truly a case of wearing the deer-skin turban in vain on one's head and falsely holding the ringed staff in one's hand. How could I ever settle it?
