周顒頓首。夫可以運寄情抱非理何師。中外聲訓登塗所奉。而使此中介分然去留無薄。是則怏怏失路在我奚難。足下善欲言之。吾亦言之未已也。輒復往研遲承來析。

Zhou Yong bows his head: Now, in conveying and lodging one's inner feelings, what master can one take if not principle? The verbal teachings of the inner and outer paths are what we venerate upon embarking on the way; but to cause sharp divisions here, casting off or retaining without regard—if so, how could the distress of losing the road be difficult for me [to avoid]? You kindly wished to speak of it, and my own words are not yet finished either. Thus I investigate it again, looking forward to your forthcoming analysis.
