8.38

第二破曰。入家而破家。使父子殊事兄弟異法。遺棄二親孝道頓絕。憂娛各異歌哭不同。骨血生讐服屬永棄。悖化犯順。無昊天之報。五逆不孝不復過此。

The second refutation states: "Entering the family, it destroys the family: it causes father and son to take different paths, and brothers to observe divergent teachings; the two parents are abandoned, and the way of filial piety is abruptly severed. Their sorrows and joys differ, their songs and weepings are not the same; flesh and blood become enemies, and family relations are permanently forsaken. It rebels against moral transformation and violates obedience, without repaying [the debt as boundless as] vast heaven. Of the five heinous deeds and acts of unfiliality, none surpasses this."
