The reply: Viscount Jian of Zhao's ascending as a guest and Duke Mu of Qin's traveling up to the Lord—since it is said their ears heard the Jun Heavens, naturally their mouths tasted the hundred flavors, their bodies could rest in spacious mansions, their eyes could delight in dark and yellow, or they put on embroidered garments and grasped dragon-like reins. Hence we know that what the spirit requires does not differ from a person, and its four limbs and seven orifices are always equivalent to the corporeal form. A single wing cannot go far, so without its pair it does not fly. If the spirit lacks nothing, why should it depend on the corporeal form to establish itself?
