Reply: You say: 'Scrupulously making walls and embankments,' and so forth. At first you said: 'The august sage established teachings that observe things, scrupulously following the classic of seasonal appropriateness, intending thereby to reverse gradual decay and halt excess.' Now you again raise difficulties regarding 'just opening up what is excessive.' It is not clear whether this is to challenge my humble opinion or to ridicule the sages.
