瓜州城東三里有土塔。周朝育王寺。今廢。惟有遺基。上以舍覆四廊牆匝。時見光明。公私士女往來乞福。

Three li east of the city of Guazhou there is an earthen stupa, the King Aśoka Temple of the Northern Zhou dynasty. It is now abandoned, with only its surviving foundation. Above, it is covered by a hall, enclosed on four sides by cloister walls. At times, light is seen, and men and women from both the official and private sectors come and go to pray for blessings.
