Regarding the clay walking image in the cliff one hundred li south of Liangzhou: formerly, King Juqu Mengxun ruled the Liang territory and dedicated himself exclusively to promoting merit. In this cliff, he created forms and images on a vast scale, with thousands of variations and transformations that astonished and dazzled the eye. There is an earthen holy monk, about the height of a person, who constantly engages in walking meditation by himself without ever pausing. When seen from afar, he walks; when someone approaches, he stops. If one looks at his facial features, they have the appearance of walking. Some spread fine earth on the ground, and afterward they saw deeply impressed footprints. It appears like this even now.
