15.62

卿常何如。歷觀高士。類多有情。吾亦許卿。以同何緬邈之過。便是末孤了幽關也。吾猶存舊情東望慨然。便是有不馳處也。見熾公阡陌。如卿問栖僧於山。誠是美事。屢改驟遷。未為快也。杖策之郡斯則善也。祇洹中轉有奇趣。福業深緣森兮滿目。見形者所不能傳。聞言而悟亦難其人。辭煩而已。於此絕筆。范泰敬謂。

How have you been of late? Looking broadly at lofty scholars, most are possessed of sentiment. I also grant that you, in sharing what has passed into remote distance, are indeed one who has fully illuminated the dark pass. I still preserve old sentiments, looking eastward with deep sighing; there is indeed a place to which I do not hasten. Seeing the path of Venerable Chi, regarding your inquiring after housing monks in the mountains, this is truly a fine matter; to repeatedly change and abruptly move is not delightful. Taking the staff to the commandery is indeed good. Within the Jetavana, wondrous delights unfold by turns; karmic blessings and deep conditions are densely abundant before the eyes. Those who see forms cannot transmit it; to awaken upon hearing words also finds few candidates. Words are merely cumbersome; here I lay down my brush. Respectfully conveyed by Fan Tai.
