I consider that the Buddha's transforming territory within the boundary of the three-thousandfold [world] directly addresses petty knowledge, and is provisionally restricted to the Southern Continent. Yet calculating all of the Divine Continent, all have received his voice and teachings; the spiritual footprints and remaining traces were concealed in the early Ji [dynasty]. Since the Former Han, they have appeared at intervals: when Liu Xiang collated books in the Imperial Pavilion, he repeatedly found Buddhist scriptures; in the Red County, mountains split and waters opened, and auspicious statues appeared from time to time. Sometimes pagodas welled up from the earth, or the Buddha descended from the sky. The matters are complex and manifold; I roughly present ten or so. For those that have not yet been seen, their appearances should be made known.
